Underground car park insulation in Hamburg – soffit and wall insulation
Underground car parks are unheated and constantly ventilated. Where flats or offices sit above, the insulation of the car park ceiling determines heat loss, floor temperature and thermal bridging. DALGA BAU insulates underground car park ceilings and walls in Hamburg and the surrounding area – in new builds and existing buildings alike.
Scope of work
- Soffit insulation of underground car parks and basement ceilings
- Wall insulation of adjoining elements, e.g. to stairwells and basement rooms
- Bonding and anchoring to system specification
- Neat detailing around services, downstand beams and installations
- Junctions with columns, walls and openings
Insulation materials and fire protection
Underground car parks are subject to increased fire protection requirements. Non-combustible insulation materials such as stone wool, mineral insulation boards or multi-layer wood wool boards with a mineral wool core are therefore common. The required building material class is set by the building regulations, the garage regulations (Garagenverordnung) and the fire safety strategy. We implement the specifications from design and tender and agree insulation thickness and fixing with you in advance.
Process
- Survey and substrate inspection
- Agreement on system, insulation thickness and fixing
- Execution – in phases if agreed
- Acceptance and documentation
For developers, contractors and property managers
We work for developers, general contractors, housing companies and property managers as well as for private owners. We are happy to price on the basis of your bill of quantities.
Frequently asked questions
Why are underground car park ceilings insulated?
Underground car parks are unheated and heavily ventilated. The ceiling usually adjoins heated residential or commercial spaces. Without insulation, the result is heat loss, cold floors and thermal bridges. The German Buildings Energy Act (GEG) sets requirements for these building elements.
Which insulation materials are common in underground car parks?
Because of fire protection requirements, usually non-combustible materials such as stone wool, mineral insulation boards or multi-layer wood wool boards with a mineral wool core. The building regulations, the garage regulations (Garagenverordnung) and the building’s fire safety strategy are decisive.
